Corporate Kits

What is included in a corporate kit?

A corporate kit is a collection of paperwork that are useful, and sometimes, requirements for your business.  At its basic level, a corporate kit is a binder, an enclosure for the binder, a operating agreement or bylaws, sample minutes, member certificates or corporate shares, and a corporate seal.  You can purchase a corporate kit online for as little at $45 dollars but most range around $100 dollars.  The best ones all include a CD so that you can easily work on your corporate documents using a CD from your business or personal computer.

What is a corporate seal in the corporate kit?

While we suggest that you have a corporate kit for your legal filing, it is not a requirement.  Some of the enclosures in your kit are requirements, but you can certain obtain those in other ways.  For example, a staple of every corporate kit is what is called a "corporate seal".   Now many people confuse the "corporate seal" with a "state seal" that may be returned from the Secretary of States office with your approved corporate paperwork.  A corporate seal is simply an embossing stamp that has some basic information about your company on the seal that can be used to place an embossing stamp onto a piece of legal corporate paperwork.  The act of stamping a sheet of paper with the corporate seal will effectively make your paper official.
